CIRCULATION SERVICES

1. Registration

Please ask at the service counter.

2. Borrowing

  • You can take out books only while your ID card is valid.
  • Please show your ID card with the books at the service counter.
  • You must return books by the due date.

3. Loan Period and Number of Copies Allowed for Loan:

4. Non - Circulating Materials

  • Reference books labeled "‹Ö‘Ño(=not for circulating)"
  • Newspapers

5. Returning

  • Please return books to the service counter.
  • When the library is closed, you can return books into the Book Post at the side of the entrance.
  • You must return books by the due date.
  • You can not borrow more books until the overdue books have been returned.

6. Renewal

You can renew a book once before or on the due date, unless someone has placed a reserve on it.

7. Reservation

  • You can reserve books on loan, please inquire at the service counter.
  • For the reserved books available, please pay attention to the bulletin board in the Library.
  • They are kept at the service counter for seven days.

8. Loan periods are changed during Spring, Summer, and Winter vacations.

For further details, please refer to notices posted on the bulletin board in the Library.

9. If you lose or damage any library material, you must report it immediately and pay for its replacement at that time.

HOW TO FIND BOOKS

1. You can find books you need by searching in the home-made database from reference (OPAC) terminals situated on each floor.

2. You can get information about materials stored in the Iizuka Campus at the same time.

3. For further details, please refer to the "How to use OPAC", or please ask for assistance at the service counter.

REFERENCE SERVICE

Whenever you have any difficulties in using the Library or in finding the information need, please ask for help at the service counter.

OTHER SERVICES

1. Using the Tobata Campus Main Library:

  • You may borrow library materials from the Tobata Campus Main Library.

The loan procedures are similar as on the Iizuka Branch.

  • Faculty members can ask for the materials at the service counter here.

2. Visiting other libraries:

You may need a letter of introduction, please apply to the service counter in advance.

3. Inter-library Loans

  • Materials unavailable in the KIT Library can be photocopied or borrowed from other libraries.
  • Please fill in the form for your need, e.g. photocopy or loan and one form should be made for each item.
  • You will be charged for them, please inquire at the service counter.

GENERAL REMINDERS

  • Silence should always be maintained.
  • No food or drinks are allowed strictly in the Library.
  • Please return all library materials to their appropriate shelves in order.
  • Bags may be brought into the Library.
  • If books have not been checked out properly, the warning buzzer will signal when going out of the Library.
